ConnexFM Committees & Councils
The Environmental, Social, and Governance Committee (ESG Committee) is dedicated to supporting ConnexFM’s commitment to environmental stewardship, health, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and sustainability that matter to our members. We aim to enrich the ConnexFM community with valuable tools, resources, and educational opportunities by fostering collaboration among individuals and businesses with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
The ESG Committee focuses on the following areas:
Commercial buildings are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, particularly through electricity use for heating, ventilation, cooling, and lighting. Facility professionals play a crucial role in reducing the environmental impact of buildings by implementing sustainable practices. This includes initiatives to decrease carbon footprints, enhance energy efficiency, and manage waste and water usage effectively.
We believe that the success of a business is closely linked to the well-being of its employees, customers, and the communities it serves. Our committee strives to help members promote diversity and inclusion, foster respect for customers, and ensure sustainable practices within the environments where our members operate.
The ESG Committee guides facility management professionals in upholding high ethical standards and transparent business practices. We provide insights on stakeholder mapping and strategies to persuade executives to invest in sustainability technologies and practices as part of their capital expenditures (CapEx).
Through these efforts, the ESG Committee aims to advance the overall sustainability and social responsibility of the ConnexFM community, benefiting both individual members and the industry as a whole.
